Two squirrels just tried to climb the house! What a racket they made. We were all relaxing and curled up in the living room. Tess and Cori (with a Cathy sandwich filling) on the couch. Luci on the chair. When they started climbing we nearly jumped out of our skins. Tess immediately got up and went on patrol, barking and making more noise than the squirrels. But that didn't stop them. They are fearless (and stupid). Now one is out on the front porch. We can't wait to get out into the yard and see what havoc they've wreaked (and kick some squirrel butt).

Tess had growly stomach AGAIN this morning. It was eventually fixed by eating some pizza crusts. She's such a weirdo.

Last day of hunting season! Finally!

Tess has growly stomach this morning. She wouldn't eat any food but ate a bunch of grass. Then she ate some liverwurst. Seems to be better.

Cori got a special treat this morning - a ride to Yarmouth (sat in the car for an hour though - yuck), then a walk at Royal River Park. Extra special day. For once the walk even seemed long enough. She was ready to turn around at the bridge.

Cori had an ow-y on one of her front toes yesterday. Spent all evening licking and licking it. Looked like it was swollen - a bug bite? Seems to be ok today. No more licking.

We've continued to excel at our hole-digging enterprises. Why is Cathy so mad when we make a new one? Revealed the septic tank pipe the other day - that was quite an achievement! And a nice new hole is being developed right on the front lawn. Why does Cathy keep filling them in? It negates all our good work and then we have to start over again. Very frustrating.

Pills in liverwurst. What could be better?

Sunday, November 23, 2003

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! No hunting on Sunday. And it's sunny! That means we get to go for a good walk in the woods. Without orange jackets. And everyone's home. But they're spending time in the basement again today - what's up with that? All that noise eats into our naptime. Very annoying.

Tess heard gunshots first thing yesterday morning. That's so scary for her, so she hid under the office desk for a while, aka "thunder bunker". We can't wait for hunting season to be over - next Saturday is the last day.

We've been doing a lot of good sleeping this week and created some pretty good holes in the yard. There's a new one by the cherry tree that we're especially proud of. Plus we had greenies the other day and Tess took hers outside and buried it.

Cori remembers what the office is like now and is sunning herself on the bed every morning.

Luci's fur is all back to normal - we think it's the Nutros that does it. Tess gratefully proclaims "no more Wellness". Well, we'll see little Tess, we'll see.

A beautiful sunny day but no good "walkies" for us. We're stuck in the yard because of hunting season. We've been wearing our orange bandanas when we go out - a little bit of a snazzy fashion statement brightens the day. Only 12 more days of hunting season. Plus, Thanksgiving is next week which means visitors, maybe leftovers? We're already drooling in anticipation...

Created our blog today. Have to have something to do during hunting season when we can't walk in the woods. Tess has a growly stomach this morning. It settled down after she ate some liverwurst and her morning pills. Grandma stopped by and got big welcomes from all. Cathy came home with a really good smelling box after lunch at Cole Farms.
