It's been humid for days and days and days. Not just a little, but drenching wet, all the time. The grass is about a foot deep because there's hardly a chance to mow it and poor Cori has to hop her way through it. We all like the advantage of having our greens available without having to bend down though. And our Down in The Valley part of the yard is the perfect place for Luci to do her veldting...

Today we're going to camp so we can move from the wet air to the wet water. Yay!

Yesterday at camp there was an hour of rumbling thunder. We didn't like it but we're getting desensitized - even Tess calms down after a while.

Of course, we might have been tired to begin with because Little Man came over to play again yesterday! And you all know what havok he wreaks! Since it was rainy he only went swimming twice and spent the rest of the time patrolling our little house. He is a handful and he ate some of our snacks. Tess told him that he is at the bottom of the pack. And he believed her, luckily for him. Altogether he's a friendly, good-natured soul and we think he'll be pretty wonderful, like us, in about 8-9 years...

You know when you have a thunderstorm before 7 am, it's gonna be a loooong day.

We're pacing, pacing, pacing. Except Tess who is shaking, shaking, shaking in the thunder bunker - the safe place under the computer desk, where all the wires are.

A big Happy Birthday to our Grandma!

Rosie didn't make it on Sunday because the weather was supposed to be (and was) bad. We look forward to her visit in a couple weeks...

We've been lazy. Yes, we confess. We know that greyhounds are often mistaken for high-wired bundles of energy. Boy, do we have people fooled.

Last night: big bonus! The humans went away and came back with GIANT bowls of vanilla ice cream. Apparently there was a snafu at the local dairy bar - those machines that pump out the white stuff were malfunctioning and the bowls were AT LEAST DOUBLE their normal size. We licked and licked. (Luci's little-known nickname is "The Fastest Tongue in the East".) Tongue muscle fatigue set in but we persevered. It totally made our night!

Things We Really Don't Like
1. Thunderstorms
2. Thunderstorms
3. Thunderstorms
4. Aggressive dogs
5. Unleased dogs
6. Unleashed, aggressive dogs
7. Loud, unexpected noises
8. Nail clipping (but we like the treats that follow)
9. Puppies that crawl under us
10. Lightning

Good news! Our greyhound friend Rosie will be visiting us at camp Sunday. Yay!

With this hot, muggy weather, we haven't had much energy. Pretty much eating and sleeping, although Tess did revisit the Diggy Box this morning, for old time's sake. We've been spending most of our yard time "down in the valley", the wooded, shady section where no human can see what we're doing... heh heh heh. That will remain our little secret for now.
